ABOUT US

At the beginning of the 20th century the artist Marcel Duchamp was one of the first people to recognise that works of art do not necessarily have to be created, but rather, have to be recognised as such. This means that not the way one handles artistic tools, but the way one deals with concepts is central for all creative media. Today the work of many young designers locates itself confidently within the overlapping fields of art, design and architecture. Artists Marian Neulant and Axel van Exel, both of who live in Berlin, provide proof that the collaboration of a sculptor and an architect can produce very interesting results. The scope of their works goes far beyond the mere functionality of the manufactured object. –Text published in spoonfork.de magazine
